The Antelope Valley area and Palmdale proudly include the historic AMPAC facility (American Precisions Aluminum Casting) built in the 1980's to help then-President Ronald Reagan with his defense buildup for the purpose of combating Communism and the USSR. It now houses AV Self Storage and includes an in-house tribute that is open to the public. (See Reagan family mementos.)
